Conflicting Installations

  1. 8 years ago

    Hi,
I just purchased a new FOP2 license today for one of our clients. Unfortunately, after installing FOP2 and the license, I realized that this server already had an FOP2 installation in the past; so I now have 2 conflicting installations of FOP2 on the same server and its causing bugs.

For instance, I cannot execute "/usr/local/fop2/fop2_server --test"; it just hangs.
Another example, I couldn't register my new license using "/usr/local/fop2/fop2_server --register"; it just hangs. I had to register my license using "/usr/src/fop2/server/fop2_server --register"
Another example, I can start the service using "service fop2 start" but it seems the instance that is starting is not the registered instance, because I only get around 15 buttons.

I have to fix this as soon as possible because this is a production FreePBX server, not a development server. I was thinking the best way to resolve this issue would be to uninstall the FOP2 installations and then reinstall clean, and reapply license. However, I cannot find information on how to completely remove FOP2. Is there a better way of doing this?

Thank you very much for your time.

  2. I was able to fix this problem by replacing the contents of "usr/local/fop2" by "/usr/src/fop2/server", and reactivating the license.

great! you can always install the whole thing over typing "make install" in /usr/src/fop2 also.
